As the title suggests I'm another step closer to having lap band surgery done. Before the surgery date can be booked you need to have some blood tests done.
Well I went and had them this morning. I realise that you have to have a few tests done but they took 8 viles of blood from my body, I didn't think they were going to leave any left for me to function with.
Next steps are to go back to the surgeon next Tuesday and discuss the results and hopefully book a date for the surgery.

Well done. How exciting! 8 viles is alot huh? You'd think they could take one...after all they just need a drop for each test right? Maybe not - what would I know. Blood tests sound interesting. I'd be very curious about my blood tests. I'm sure next Tuesday will just take you another step closer! A big hug for you Carlton.
Carlton my dear friend, I have failed to comment as I do not want to appear negative or unsupportive. However, I am compelled to say that I have seen and heard much more negatives than I have positives about this surgery. I know EXACTLY how you feel about wanting to be thinner, I know how you want it more than anything in the world. But at what cost? Having folds and folds of loose skin from fast weight loss isn't a great boost to the self esteem either. I would hate to see you lose one problem to gain another. I have also heard stories of people never eating normally again, being constantly vomiting and ill, and not being able to eat foods they have always enjoyed. This really saddens and scares me. Being fat is bad, but vomiting daily, and having loose skin you can't afford to have removed would be unbearable.
I am here to support you with whatever decision you need to make, and if at this point you really need, and want to do this, I will be there to hold your hand, and help you through it, I am just frightened for you darling, and hope you are doing the right thing.
Best love
Liv xxxxxx
Keep us posted about the blood test results!!! Fascinating stuff :)
OH MY GAWD!!!!! I was only gone for 3 weeks and so much has happened in blog land. I am not sure what to say about your decision for surgery but I know that your not the kind of person to go into it without knowing all the necessary information first. Just know that you have my full support and will be here if you need to chat when your feeling nervous.
Am also sad to read about your friend and her baby. I couldnt believe it and had to read it a couple of times. Big hugs to you and to her family and son.
Hugs
